Acushla has developed her dancing style through learning Egyptian belly dance, Indian dance and for the last 7 years focused primarily on Tribal Style Belly Dance and Tribal Fusion. She has learnt from master teachers and performers (Carolena Nerricio, Paulette Rees Denis, and Rachel Brice) and continues her training. She has received ongoing tuition with International performer and dance company director, Shakti Chakravarty for the past 2 years, learning the classical Indian Dance Bharata Natyam. Acushla has also had private tuition in Flamenco and has attended workshops with local Flamenco companies. Having travelled to Perth, Melbourne and Sydney to attend master workshops with International and national teachers, Acushla has developed her own style representing the essence of cultural fusion dance. Her main influences include Classical belly dance, Flamenco and Aesthetics from Classical Indian dance. Recent performances include SA guitar festival, Australian Tribal Trance festival, SA Food Awards, Ausdance performance evening, Brisbane dance festival and various corporate events.
